DEVELOPMENT CASE
In the early 1900s, Israels Plads used to be Copenhagen’s largest market place, where suppliers from all over Zealand gathered to sell their freshly harvested fruit, vegetables, flowers, meat and bread. The market place returned to its original purpose and re-emerge as a traditional market square. At the same time, it will embody a new, modern concept bringing a huge range of high-quality food directly to the heart of the city.
Situated at the edge of the pedestrian area above ParkCity, and just a few hundred metres from the busiest commuter hub in Denmark, the business potential was obvious for Nordic Venture Partners.
Israels Plads provideS more than 7,000 m2 of space, partly covered by two large roof structures and partly with open-air stalls. It is thus a bustling centre of trade, with more than 120 different market stalls, selling a large variety of Danish and international foods.
